The Carwow recommendations show which models are particularly promising.
Those who bought a new car in 2024 often opted for inexpensive electric cars, compact SUVs and small cars. Models from the VW Group were far ahead in terms of the number of configurations at Carwow.

The Cupra Born: stylish, electric and number one in 2024
By a wide margin at the top, the Cupra Born is the most popular car on Carwow in 2024. As an electric compact car with a sporty design and good range, it is the best choice for many customers.
Family-friendly SUVs far ahead
VW T-Roc, VW Tiguan, Seat Arona and Hyundai Tucson – family-friendly SUVs as combustion models were convincing. All four vehicles offer space, comfort and are affordable. In addition, despite their size suitable for everyday use, they are compact and therefore also suitable for the city.
Cheap small cars are well received
Small cars have become expensive and yet remain the cheapest cars on the market – and this is also reflected in the configurations in 2024. Those who wanted to spend a maximum of 20,000 euros opted for the Seat Ibiza or the Dacia Sandero.
Electric SUVs with good range in the top 10
Electric cars did less well in 2024 than in the previous year. Nevertheless, some models can be found in the top places. With the Tesla Model Y, the Skoda Enyaq and the Volvo EX30, they are once again SUVs. What they have in common is that all cars come with a good range, plenty of space and modern technologies.
These are the Carwow recommendations for 2025
- Dacia Bigster
- Kia EV4
- Fiat Grande Panda
- Skoda Elroq
- Hyundai Inster
- Cupra Raval
- MG Cyberster
- Ford Puma Gen-E
- VW Tayron
- Skoda Epiq
In 2025, the selection of affordable e-cars will increase significantly
After a difficult year for electromobility, things are expected to improve in 2025. Calls for a new premium for e-cars are being heard from everywhere and manufacturers are launching a large number of new models on the market. If the supply increases, the price should also become cheaper.
Above all, the selection of small and thus inexpensive vehicles will be larger in 2025. Skoda is launching two small electric cars with the Elroq and the Epiq, Cupra is following suit with the Raval and the winner of the Carwow Car of the Year Award in the "Car Anticipation" category – the Fiat Grande Panda – gives hope for a practical model with plenty of space, just like the Hyundai Inster.
The Dacia Bigster is also long-awaited. It is not a small electric car, but as expected from Dacia, you can still afford the SUV - it is expected to cost around 25,000 euros.
Anticipation of the first electric roadster
Something very special awaits us in the form of the first electric roadster. The MG Cyberster will certainly not meet the taste of the masses - and neither will the price. But for roadster fans, it could become an interesting combustion engine alternative.
